‘Eroica’ Symphony

Beethoven's symphony No. 3 in E flat major, Op. 55, composed 1803–04. It was to have been entitled Bonaparte, but on hearing that Napoleon had declared himself emperor, Beethoven renamed it Sinfonia Eroica, composta per festeggiare il souvenire di un grand'uomo/Heroic Symphony, Composed to Celebrate the Memory of a Great Man.
