This study includes what we
believe to be the first measurements of 1,3-butadiene in smokers'
and nonsmokers' breath. Hydrogenated
carboxylated nitrile butadiene robber (HXNBR) is formed by polymerizing
a conjugated diene such as 1,3-butadiene, a nitrile such as
acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile and an unsaturated carboxylic acid
such as acrylic or methacrylic acid to produce a polymer with a C=C
backbone and a random or statistical monomer distribution. Species differences in the production
and clearance of 1,3-butadiene metabolites: a mechanistic model
indicates predominantly physiological, not biochemical, control. |
