Borrelly

Periodic comet first observed by French astronomer Alphonse Borrelly in 1904. It has a period of 6.8 years.

A fly-by by NASA probe Deep Space 1 in September 2001 revealed that the comet's 8-km/5-mi nucleus had the darkest surface of any Solar System body then known, absorbing more than 97% of the sunlight that falls on it.
