fibre channel

High-speed serial communications system designed to enable computers to be connected to other computers or to high-capacity storage devices using fibreoptic cable. The most common version, Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL), is predominantly used in SCSI. Fibre channel has also been adapted for use over copper cables.
