32-bit

In computing, term describing the ability to process 32 bits at a time. The Intel 386 and 486 series of microprocessors are examples of 32-bit processors.

The term is also used to specify the quality of sound produced by sound cards, where increased speed indicates the ability to produce more fully detailed (and therefore more realistic) sound. Windows NT, OS/2, and Windows 95/98 and XP are all examples of 32-bit operating systems.
