Command of the Roman defensive campaign goes to Flavius Stilicho, a commander of Vandal origin, who defeats the invaders. Section 391 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1998 (Public Law 105-85), as amended, authorizes the Secretary of Defense to carry out a pilot program to use commercial sources of services to improve the collection of the Department of Defense claims under aircraft engine warranties and to enter into contracts under the pilot program for collection-related services.
Damage estimates reached nearly $350 million, with at least 391 Palestinians killed and 706 wounded.
