Four Weddings and a Funeral

British romantic comedy film released in 1994. It was scripted by Richard Curtis and directed by Mike Newell. Set among the upper middle class, the film tells the story of Charles (Hugh Grant) who, apparently unable to sustain a relationship himself while all his friends are getting married, finally falls for the US movie star Carrie (Andie MacDowell). The plot follows the conventional highs and lows of classic romantic comedy, and features fine ensemble playing from a predominantly British cast including John Hannah, Simon Callow, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Rowan Atkinson.
