However, the Egyptians also claim a victory. Both the pharaoh Tanutamon and the Assyrians retire, the former to his native Ethiopia (modern Sudan) where he settles in the city of Meroe. The 25th dynasty of Egypt ends with his passing from the Egyptian scene. |
