A Coruña

Province of Galicia, northwest Spain; area 7,899 sq km/3,050 sq mi; population (1991 est) 1,088,500. Situated on the Atlantic coast, it includes Cape Finisterre, the most westerly point in Spain. Agriculture and industry are well developed around the coastline, and the interior of the province is rich in minerals. The capital is A Coruña.
