Volvo

Swedish motor vehicle manufacturer founded in 1927 by Gustaf Larson and Assar Gabrielsson. In the mid 1970s Volvo acquired the Dutch DAF concern. In 1999 Volvo sold its car division to the Ford Motor Company, concentrating its focus largely on commercial vehicles. In 2001 it acquired Renault Trucks and its subsidiary Mack Trucks in the USA, and in 2007 completed the purchase of the Japanese truck manufacturer Nissan Diesel.

Volvo Truck and Bus Ltd celebrated the 80th anniversary of AB Volvo and the 40th of Volvo Trucks in the UK by running the convoy from Volvo's UK headquarters at Warwick to the Commercial Vehicle & Road Transport Club annual show at Gaydon on Saturday.
