Super Bowl

US professional American football championship, inaugurated in 1967. It is the annual end-of-season contest between the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC) champions.

In fact, it was officially the AFL-NFL World Championship Game in the 1960s.
He played for the 1966 AFL Champion Kansas City Chiefs and in the first AFL-NFL World Championship Game.
The Super Bowl, by contrast, only began in 1967 and went under the cumbersome title of the AFL-NFL World Championship Game until the two leagues formally merged in 1970, when the `Super' tag was added retrospectively.
