Aiea

Town in Honolulu County, south Oahu, Hawaii; population (1990) 8,900. Situated on the northeast shore of Pearl Harbor, this residential suburb 11 km/7 mi northwest of Honolulu has shopping centres and housing developments. Many residents are employed by nearby Fort Shafter and Tripler Army Hospital. Aiea is a sugar cane refining centre.
