ASCII art

Pictures or fancy graphics created entirely out of ASCII characters such as letters of the alphabet or punctuation marks. ASCII art has existed since the invention of computers. Today it is found in Usenet signatures (.sigs), special newsgroups such as alt.art.ascii, and occasionally in messages, both public and private.
