Abbās I, Pasha (1813-1854)

Viceroy of Egypt 1848-54. He was the grandson of Mehemet Ali, and succeeded upon the death of his uncle, Ibrahim Pasha. He promoted the construction of the railway from Alexandria to Cairo 1851.
