Abqaiq

Town in northeastern Saudi Arabia, near the Gulf coast; population (1993) 32,000. Abqaiq is a major oil producing centre, is the terminus of several pipelines, and has a large natural gas injection plant. The town is on the Riyadh–Dammam railway.
