into the historical development of the medium. In another
single-slide work, Image of Absalon to Be Projected Until It Vanishes,
2001, we see a statue of the mythical founder of Copenhagen on
horseback. In the early days of the 1994 rebellion, the Zapatista combatants
carried out their own form of justice on the infamous ex-governor of
Chiapas, Absalon Castellanos, kidnapping him from his ranch outside Las
Margaritas, and putting him on trial for torturing and massacring
peasants in the area. |
