Achille

Opera by Ferdinando Paër (libretto by G di Gamera), first produced at the Vienna Kärntnertortheater, Austria, on 6 June 1801. The plot concerns Achilles and Agamemnon who are allies in war but rivals during the siege of Troy. The opera contains a funeral march said to have been admired by Beethoven.
