oxalic acidWhite, poisonous solid, soluble in water, alcohol, and ether. Oxalic acid is found in rhubarb leaves, and its salts (oxalates) occur in wood sorrel (genus Oxalis, family Oxalidaceae) and other plants. It also occurs naturally in human body cells.
