Ada County

County in southwest Idaho, bounded by the Snake River; area 2,725 sq km/1,052 sq mi; population (1990) 205,800. Boise is the administrative headquarters of this, the state's most populous county. Boise's metropolitan area and many industries dominate the north part of the county. An irrigated agricultural area in the Boise River valley, Ada County produces dairy goods, sugar beets, hay, fruit, truck garden crops, alfalfa, and wine. The Snake River Birds of Prey Area is in the southeast of the county.

The Front 5 Building is the second LEED Certified building in Idaho after the Ada County Courthouse and Administration Building, which was certified using LEED for Existing Buildings.
The city of Boise, Ada County and the Bureau of Land Management contributed funds for construction of the building while private donors including Boise Cascade Corporation, Idaho Power, Intermountain Gas, The Nature Conservancy, Golden Eagle Audubon Society, Sustainable Idaho, Supportive Housing Innovative Partnership (SHIP), Terravita Landscape, WaterFurnace International and United Water also donated services and money.
The recycling program in downtown Boise, Idaho, diverted more than two tons of recyclables from the Ada County landfill in 2002, according to a report in the Idaho Statesman.
