Ada County

County in southwest Idaho, bounded by the Snake River; area 2,725 sq km/1,052 sq mi; population (1990) 205,800. Boise is the administrative headquarters of this, the state's most populous county. Boise's metropolitan area and many industries dominate the north part of the county. An irrigated agricultural area in the Boise River valley, Ada County produces dairy goods, sugar beets, hay, fruit, truck garden crops, alfalfa, and wine. The Snake River Birds of Prey Area is in the southeast of the county.
