Adam of Bremen

Adam of Bremen (lived 11th century)

German historian. In 1068 he was made canon of Bremen Cathedral and principal of the cathedral school. He wrote the Gesta Hammaburgensis Ecclesiae Pontificum 1072–76, a history of Hamburg and of the spread of Christianity in the north.

He probably died 1076; the dates of his birth and death and definite particulars of his life are unknown.
