Adelman, Irma

Adelman, Irma (1930– )

Romanian-born economist. She is best known for developing a system of ‘factor analysis’, integrating social, political, and economic factors to explain economic growth in developing countries. Adelman was educated at the University of California where she also accepted a professorship in 1979.
