Adeney, Richard (1920- )

English flautist. At his first concert in 1938 he played the St Matthew Passion, under Vaughan Williams. He was principal flautist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra 1941-50 and 1960-69, and has played with the Melos Ensemble and the English Chamber Orchestra. He is often heard as soloist.
