The performance of the GreeneChip system was initially tested in
GreeneChipVr hybridizations that used extracts of cultured cells
infected with adenoviruses, alphaviruses, arenaviruses, coronaviruses,
enteroviruses, filoviruses, flaviviruses, herpesviruses,
orthomyxoviruses, paramyxoviruses, poxviruses, reoviruses, and
rhabdoviruses (49 viruses). Immunologist Andrea Gambotto and his colleagues at the University
of Pittsburgh School of Medicine devised a vaccine using three
common-cold adenoviruses, each genetically modified to produce a protein
from the coronavirus that causes SARS. Human adenoviruses and coliphages in
urban runoff impacted coastal waters of Southern California. |
