Adlington, William

    0.07 sec.

Adlington, William (lived 16th century)

English translator and writer. He is known for his translation of Apuleius' Golden Ass (1566).

Little is known of Adlington, except that he dedicated his work to the Earl of Sussex from University College, Oxford. He may have come from a Cheshire family and may be identifiable with the ‘W A’ who in 1579 published a verse tract, A Speciall Remedie against the Furious Force of Lawlesse Love.
