Admeto rè di Tessaglia

Opera by Handel (librettist Nicola Francesco Haym or Paolo Rolli), first produced at the King's Theatre, Haymarket, London, on 31 January 1727. In the plot, Alcestis promises to sacrifice herself to save Admetus. The opera was a vehicle for the rival sopranos Francesca Cuzzoni and Faustina Bordoni.
