Adria

Market town in Veneto region, northeastern Italy, lying on the Canale Bianco between the rivers Po and Adige; population (1998 est) 21,400. Founded by the Etruscans, and now 20 km/12 mi inland, Adria was once an important port on the Adriatic Sea, to which it gave its name. It has Etruscan and Roman remains, and a modern cathedral.
