Aegeus

In Greek mythology, king of Athens and father of Theseus who was sent to kill the Cretan Minotaur. On his return, Theseus forgot to substitute white sails for black in a prearranged signal to indicate his success in killing the Minotaur. Believing his son dead, Aegeus leapt into the Aegean Sea.
