Aeolian harp

Wind-blown musical instrument consisting of a shallow soundbox supporting gut strings at low tension and tuned to the same pitch. It produces an eerie harmony that rises and falls with the changing pressure of the wind. It originated in India and China, becoming popular in parts of central Europe during the 19th century. The instrument is named after Aeolus, the god of the winds in Greek mythology.
