Prior to the onset of the blindness, the patient's visual
acuity had been 20/60 in the right eye and 6/200 in the left eye; he had
also had a left relative afferent pupillary defect. Examination also
revealed an afferent pupillary defect of the right eye and right lateral
rectus muscle palsy (figure 1). His visual acuity was 6/6 right
and 6/5 left, he had no relative afferent pupillary defect, and his
ocular movements were normal. |
