African traditional dance

    0.04 sec.

African traditional dance

Tribal and regional African dances with a primarily ritualistic function. These rhythmically complex dances are performed to celebrate the important events in people's lives and are part of the everyday experience. In most cases, the dance focuses on the circle with soloists splitting off and then returning to the main group. Movement is generally directed towards the ground rather than upwards.
