Agasias (lived 1st century BC)

Two Greek sculptors of Ephesus. (1) Son of Dositheus. He signed the Borghese Warrior, now in the Louvre, a sculpture of two warriors in combat, one on foot and one on horseback; it was discovered at Anzio (ancient Antium), Italy, and shows a remarkable knowledge of anatomy. (2) Son of Menophilus. He is known from signatures in Delos, and he also flourished around 100 BC. One signed base may belong to the Wounded Warrior of Delos, part of a group.
