Agricola, Johann Friedrich (1720–1774)

German composer. He studied with Bach at Leipzig, and afterwards with Hasse at Dresden, and Quantz and Graun in Berlin. He was director of the Hofkapelle there from 1759 until his death. He married the singer Benedetta Molteni in 1751.

operas, psalms, hymns, and other church music; Italian secular cantatas.
