Agrinio

Town in Greece in the department of Aetolia and Acarnania, Central Greece and Euboea region, 29 km/18 mi north of Missolonghi; population (2001) 55,700. It is at the centre of a tobacco- and currant-producing region.

80 kW project in Agrinio is expected to produce 26,000 kWh annually, the company says.
Residents of the town of Agrinio, near the lake, said there was a loud rumble, furniture shook and they ran from their homes.
The bodies of the five men - two brothers and three cousins aged between 17 and 33 - were found near the city of Agrinio, about 175 miles northwest of Athens, police said.
