Aichi

Japanese aircraft of World War II, principally used by the navy.

The B7A, known to the Allies as ‘Grace’, was a torpedo-bomber produced in small numbers. The D3A, known as ‘Val’, was a carrier dive bomber of great strength and efficiency; it was the principal dive bomber used at Pearl Harbor December 1941, and sank numerous Allied warships throughout the war. The E13A, ‘Jake’, was a floatplane used for reconnaissance; it was used in this role to prepare the way for the Pearl Harbor raid, and was carried by almost all Japanese warships.
