Aeolus

In Greek mythology, the ruler or keeper of the winds. He kept them imprisoned in a cave on the island of Aeolia, which came to be identified with Lipari, one of the Aeolian islands that lie north of eastern Sicily.

According to Homer, he was the son of Hippotes, and had six sons and six daughters who married one another.
