Local fish consumption and serum PCB concentrations among
Mohawk men at Akwesasne. Instead, they were smuggled back
into Canada through the Akwesasne Native American reserve near Cornwall,
Ontario, helping the company avoid paying millions of dollars in taxes
in both the United States and Canada. Tammy
Tarbell's clay sculpture, "The Execution of Pro and Con,"
shows a clan mother weeping over conflicts between anti-gambling and
pro-gambling factions at the Akwesasne reservation in 1990, and the
death of two people, one of whom was Tarbell's cousin. |
