Al MukallaSeaport capital of the Hadhramaut coastal region of Yemen, on the Gulf of Aden 480 km/300 mi east of Aden; population (2004) 323,300. | In Yemen, KEC has one producing asset (Block 43, onshore, Central Yemen) and interests in six exploration assets, all onshore in Central Yemen with the exception of Block 15 (off Al Mukalla in the Increased activity by the Yemeni Coast Guard between Aden and al Mukalla impacted arms shipments from ports in the patrolled areas. Recently, Somali Pirates have hijacked a fourth vessel in 48 hours by Lebanese-owned cargo ships, and another German ship today at south of the Yemeni port of Al Mukalla and has more than 100 hijackings over the last year. |
