Albéniz, Pedro (1795–1855)

Spanish pianist and composer, son of Mateo Pérez de Albéniz. He was organist at various towns from the age of 13. In 1830 he became professor of piano at Madrid Conservatory and then first organist at the royal chapel in 1834. He was appointed piano teacher to Queen Isabella and the Infanta Maria Luisa in 1841. He wrote a method for piano, about 70 piano works, and some songs.
