Albatros

German fighter aircraft of World War I. The Albatros DIII, a highly streamlined biplane capable of speeds of 175 kph/110 mph armed with two machine guns, was one of the most significant fighter designs of the war. It was flown by aces such as von Richthofen and enabled the German air force to maintain air superiority over the Western Front throughout the first half of 1917.
