Albery, Tim (1952- )

English stage director. He directed Racine and Shakespeare in London, and made his opera debut with The Turn of the Screw at Batignano in 1983. He directed Midsummer Marriage (1985) and Don Giovanni for Opera North, and The Trojans (1986-90 at Leeds) for Welsh National Opera and Scottish Opera, and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London. His English National Opera Ensemble productions have been Billy Budd, Beatrice and Benedict, Peter Grimes and Lohengrin (1988-93). He directed the first British performance of Massenet's Chérubin at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in 1994.
