Most extensive glacier in Europe, 23.6 km/14.7 mi long, beginning on the southern slopes of the Jungfrau in the Bernese Alps, Switzerland.

Since the end of the 17th century, the faithful in the districts of Fiesch and Fieschental have blamed the nearby Aletsch glacier, the longest in the Alps, for flooding and prayed for it to melt.
Jungfrau Aletsch Bietschhorn Saving the best until last though, this is a perfect example of why camping in Switzerland is such an amazing experience: the scenery.
