Alexander, Robert J(ackson) (1918– )

US political scientist. His works on economic development and the history of labour and radical movements in Latin America include The Venezuelan Democratic Revolution (1964) and Bolivia (1982). The Bolivian government awarded him the Order of the Condor of the Andes in 1962.

Born in Canton, Ohio; Alexander took his PhD at Columbia University. He taught at Rutgers University.
