Alexander Obrenovich (1876-1903)

King of Serbia from 1889 while still a minor, on the abdication of his father, King Milan I. He took power into his own hands 1893 and aroused great opposition by his marriage to Draga Mashin, a widow, 1900 and by his arbitrary rule. In 1903 Alexander and his queen were murdered, and Peter I Karageorgevich was placed on the throne.
