Alexander, Grover

Alexander, Grover (Cleveland) (1887–1950)

US baseball player. One of baseball's great right-handed pitchers, he won 373 games during his Hall of Fame career, mostly with the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs (1911–30). An epileptic and admitted alcoholic, his life was portrayed in the 1952 film, The Winning Team, starring Ronald Reagan.
