Alexanderson, Ernst Frederik Werner (1878–1957)

Nearly all of Swedish-born US Ernst Alexanderson's inventions originated during the 45 years he spent as an employee of the General Electric Company. During that period, the company loaned out his services to the Radio Corporation of America. For a time, he was RCA's temporary chief engineer, responsible for setting up many powerful radio transmitters across the USA.

Swedish-born US electrical and electronic pioneer. He invented the high-frequency alternator for long-range radio communication in 1907 and contributed to improvements in radio antennae, railway electrification, ship propulsion, and motor control as well as the Amplidyne radionic valve. He demonstrated his system of television privately 1927 and publicly 1930, and colour television 1955.
