aluminium hydroxide

Gelatinous precipitate formed when a small amount of alkali solution is added to a solution of an aluminium salt.

Al3+(aq) OH(aq) → Al(OH)3(s)

It is an amphoteric compound as it readily reacts with both acids and alkalis.
