Alcamenes (lived 5th century BC)

Athenian classical sculptor, successor to Phidias, whose student he may have been. Delicacy and finish characterize his works such as Aphrodite of the Gardens and Hephaestus. He was probably one of the many sculptors who worked on the Parthenon.
