alkene |
Also found in: Medical, Encyclopedia, Wikipedia | 0.07 sec. |
alkeneMember of the group of hydrocarbons having the general formula CnH2n, formerly known as olefins. Alkenes are unsaturated compounds, characterized by one or more double bonds between adjacent carbon atoms. Lighter alkenes, such as ethene and propene, are gases, obtained from the cracking of oil fractions. Alkenes readily take part in addition reactions, and many useful compounds, such as polythene and bromoethane, are made from them. How to thank TFD for its existence? | Key statement: A rubber composition comprising (A) an
organopolysiloxane end-capped with alkenyldialkylsiloxy, radicals and
free of aliphatic unsaturation, (B) an organipolysiloxane containing
three alkenyl radicals on molecular side chains, (C) an
organohydrogenpolysiloxane, (D) fumed silica and (E) an addition
reaction catalyst forms a seal member having improved strength and
reduced compression set and useful for sealing a polymer electrolyte
fuel-cell separator.
The characteristic difference between AOSA and ASA is that for AOSA
compounds the succinic anhydride groups are always linked to the center
of the alkenyl chains. Key statement: Comprising (A) a straight-chain fluoropolyether
having at least two alkenyl groups and a perfluoropolyether structure,
(B) an organosilicon compound having at least two Sill groups, (C) a
perfluoroparaffin or derivative and (D) a hydrosilylation catalyst cures
into a product that exhibits solvent resistance, chemical resistance,
weather resistance, water repellency, oil repellency and heat
resistance, and is improved in mold release and compression set. |
