Allen, Terry (de la Mesa) (1888–1969)

US soldier. During World War II, Allen became the only officer to lead two infantry divisions in battle.

His divisions were the 1st, composed largely of regular soldiers, which he led in Sicily in 1943, and the conscript 104th, which he trained in Oregon and led in France and Germany in 1944–45.
